DAY 5 - COCKTAILS, PLAYGROUNDS & DRUG SEARCHES

Fun night yesterday.... we thought we were going to party hard core. Reality check: by midnight Alberto was gazing into his drink, Pietro was beginning to show signs of turrets syndrome as he watched the entertainers dance and Filippo was hungry. We decided that it would be best if we acknowledged our inability to enjoy the night and just go sleep.

 So we slept. In a playground. Too tired to drive it was our only option. As we woke up we went for a refreshing swim, came up. with a plan and hit the road. Border crossing through Bosnia - Croatia was a pain. Queues we long and processing filled with suspicion. Our modus operandi on border crossings and travelling entails smiling, smiling and positive attitude no matter what. It always works; except in Bosnia. As we pulled up to the booth and handed our documentation over we just got a clean stare, follow by a "pull over here" by another armed border officer. The rig and us got searched for drugs and weapons (read more about it here). Crossing Bosnia was a matter of necessity and for security reasons we made our stay in Bosnia as brief as possible. Were back into Croatia now and just found camp next to some marshland and lakes. Mosquitos. ​
